Ashwagandha is an herb that grows mostly in India. It was traditionally used in the countries of the Far East as an adaptogenic herb Indian Ginseng.

The most important phytochemically active substances are the Withanolides, which appear to have a similar structure and biological action to steroid hormones. Withanolides apart from their adaptogenic properties (anti-anxiety and stress management) seem to have:
- anti-inflammatory properties
- immune adjuvant properties
- testosterone increasing and sperm improving properties

This specific preparation is a titrated extract of the ROOT of the herb as only the root contains the Withanolides.
